The Enchanted April

Wow. Here it is, the final post of BtS, and the final look at this little version of House and Cameron's life together. I just want to thank everyone for sticking it out for so long, even through parts that in hindsight I want to revise, and through numerous breaks because of my stupidly fluctuating health. I have to admit that knowing that there were readers out there sometimes kept me going, particularly when I was feeling sick or overwhelmed with other things... it was such a relief to be able to forget everything else and write and know that there would be people who would appreciate even the not-so-well-written parts!

My affection for this pairing has only grown as I've written this story, and I'm sure I will be writing other stories outside the SaintsandSaviors universe... I think I may even hear Steve whispering to me. The other affection that has grown has been for this wonderful comm, and I just thank SwooshDH and SweatersAreHot so much for creating it!

Thank you all so much for reading and replying, and I hope that this epilogue leaves you happy and content.

Here it is, the final part of this story (aside from the epilogue). Wow, this has been one heck of a trip! I'm actually slightly unsure of the end. I could add a page or two to tie things up more cleanly, or I could just let the epilogue do that. Your opinions on the matter would be very welcome. My heart is so full of affection for this comm and all of you. You've really helped me during some pretty rough times, and I know you'll continue to be here in the future. I consider that to be a wonderful gift, and if my writing here makes people happy, I'd say it's a pretty even trade.

Just a bit more to go. I think I will be keeping to my schedule of finishing this by May 31st, with a possible June1st date for the epilogue. It's funny that this one is shorter, and has taken just a bit less time to write than Saints and Saviors. I guess that my speed has generally been the same for all this time. As a side note, this story has now topped the 200+ page mark... it's currently at about 220 pages. Wow. Thank you all for sticking with it for so long!

Now that the end is actually approaching, I'm becoming a bit nostalgic, not unlike when S&S drew to a close. It's been a wonderful trip with House and Cameron, and having you all along for the ride has just been wonderful. Thank you all!

More of this story... of course there has to be a bit more angst. I couldn't have it completely fluffy from here on out, because House and Cameron are not a fluffy couple, and particularly in my universe, they have little demons still lurking in corners.

I hope that this part isn't too abrupt of a switch, so let me know if you find it jarring.

Moving and New Year's Eve, and after this, you can expect a bit of a time lapse in the story as I pull them towards springtime :) I did some revisions in my outline and actually think that I will be wrapping it up in two more chapters, rather than four... something which I'm sure will relieve some of you! That probably means about 5-8 more parts depending on whether they are short or long.

I hope you're still enjoying this... I know it's not quite as action-packed as the beginning but I do think that the progression of the relationship is continuing at what I hope is a realistic pace, which is really the most important thing to me as far as this story is concerned. I wanted to show a deepening relationship between them, and hopefully I'm accomplishing that. Thanks, as always, for reading!

YAY! A longer part and one with some actual action! Sorry it's a bit later than planned. I live in the northeast and we are currently beseiged with rain and flooding and my various trips and errands today took over twice as long due to detours around washed out roads!

I hope that you all enjoy this part, but I'm looking for opinions as to timing, direction, OOCness, etc.. Don't want to give too much away here, but hopefully you'll understand after reading.

Sheesh, I'm dragging this out. I swear, I do have a destination in mind but it's taking slightly longer than anticipated to get there because I'm rather enjoying the play of their relationship, which is why I keep feeding you these shorter parts... Expect more action in the next part, but unfortunately I won't be able to write it until Sunday.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm a bit behind the times holiday-wise. But soon I'll get through this and we'll be in nearly current time again season-wise :)

Okay, so I lied. There was still one more little bit that needed to be written. Phew! NOW I can move to the next bit!

I'm not entirely certain about the last bit, so let me know if it seems out of place. The style is different, but the situation seemed to lend itself to it. In my mind it feels almost like one of those scenes where there isn't any sound, but you know what's being said, and things are slightly slower in a way as a milestone is met. I can't think of any real examples or I'd give one here. Anyway, opinions as to the effectiveness of it are most welcome.

These last few parts have been on the short side, but I think that once I'm through with these obligatory (but fun!) scenes, I'll be on to the new plot stuff and the parts will get longer again.

Here's the next part. For those of you who follow this on ff.net as well, you know that it's currently up to chapter 17, and that these last couple of parts are the start of chapter 18. Just FYI, I have 24 chapters plus the epilogue planned, so we're actually coming into the last quarter of this story now.

Sooo... it wasn't a very productive week for me. Sorry about that! Too tired to do much more than crawl into bed at the end of every day.

However, I did get a good night's sleep last night and have finally written the little bit of make-up smut that I think this section of the story deserved. I hope you all enjoy it, and I hope to post more regularly in the upcoming week.

I think that this part helps to bring some more closure to the fight between House and Cameron. I'm fairly pleased with it, because I think/hope that it has them relating to one another in a realistic "real world" way while still being true to their underlying fictional characters.

This part is dedicated to my poor little beta yutamiyu who is currently sick and I hope being well taken care of by her roommates and friends.

Here it is... finally... some resolution. You've all been so patient as our favorite couple works through some issues. Hopefully the way I've worked things out makes sense and is both in character and emotionally truthful. I know you'll let me know if it doesn't meet your expectations!

A VERY long part tonight! I feel as if I'm dragging things out, but it's actually only been a few days in their world, and I just don't think I'd be doing the characters justice if they just immediately flew back together. I know I wouldn't respect Cameron, if she caved, and I wouldn't respect House if he suddenly turned mushily romantic. I guess I'm just glad that I seem to have found a little audience here that mainly agrees with me! Of course if you DON'T, please tell me that too... I am always open for criticism, as you all should know by now!

Ahh... a long part again... although it does jump around a bit. For those of you who know that I also post on ff.net, this part actually ends chapter 15 and begins chapter 16, but I just wanted to give it all to you guys since it brings things to an interesting point.

I realize that these last bits have been short, and I don't know what's preferable to people... posting as soon as I get scenes done, or holding it all until the inevitable reconnection between House and Cameron. I feel like I'm teasing you, but at the same time, I hate holding back when I do have stuff written. I'm open to taking suggestions on how you'd prefer to have me post.

Anyway, the next short bit... only two pages. Hopefully I will have more written tonight. If it's any consolation, I do have everything pre-planned and should be able to at least give poor House and Cameron some relief by Sunday.
